As you all probably know by now, I am in a reading slump, and I have been struggling a little to come up with content for the vlog. So while I was looking for post ideas, I came across this post on DreamlandBookBlog. It was the Reading Habits TAG, and I instantly wanted to do it myself. The tag was created by TheBookJazz.
I wanted to answer these questions in the hope that the reflection on my reading habits could help you, and me, read some more.
- Do you have a certain place at home for reading?
I usually read in bed. That’s my favourite place to read when I am at home, but I would lie if I don’t admit I read in other spots too, such as the couch in the living room.
2. Bookmark or random piece of paper?
I always use a bookmark when I read a physical book.
3. Can you just stop reading, or do you have to stop after a chapter/ a certain amount of pages?
I prefer to stop at the beginning of a new chapter, but I can also stop reading. It depends on my mood, to be honest. If I am tired and I can feel my eyes are closing shut I just stop where I am and pick it up from there or if I have an appointment I might also just stop reading.
4. Do you eat or drink while reading?
I love a good drink and a cosy book every now and then, but I never eat and read at the same time.
5. Multitasking: Music or TV while reading?
I usually read without music or TV. I find music to be distracting, but sometimes I leave the TV on for some background noise, and it just works for me.
6. One book at a time or several at once?
I don’t think I am wired to read one book at a time, at least not at this point in my life. I always read several books at once and switch them around following my mood. I can indeed be hooked by a story and read that one more than the others. :’)
7. Reading at home or everywhere?
I can read everywhere because I mostly read e-books. Regarding physical books, I do prefer reading them at home or at the library.
8. Reading out loud or silently in your head?
I read in my head. I heard that reading out loud could improve reading speed, but I just can’t do it.
9. Do you read ahead or even skip pages?
I do read ahead every now and then, but I never skip pages. I always go back and read the whole paragraph, though.
10. Breaking the spine or keeping it like new?
I don’t read that many paperbacks so I couldn’t say. If the spine breaks while I’m reading or I bought a second-hand book with a broken spine it wouldn’t be the end of the world for me.
11. Do you write in books?
I did annotate books I would do at school for English or mark some paragraphs if I need to analyse the book afterwards in a class. I don’t do that to books I read for pleasure if it’s not an e-book.
If you liked this tag feel free to do it yourself. I am excited to see your answers, so leave a message and I would gladly read them.
