Today I am coming to you with a more different review than usual. It is not the fact that I will be talking about a comic, but the fact that it is a series from WebToon. I didn’t know about this app until recently when a friend of mine recommended it to me. In the beginning, I avoided to give it a try because I don’t enjoy reading on my phone. I still don’t quite fancy it, but the struggle was worth it. This comic has been and will be (it is an ongoing series) EVERYTHING!

There aren’t things that I disliked, so I will only be talking about the stuff that I particularly liked. First off, and perhaps the most obvious point I can talk about, the style of drawing. It was the first thing that attracted me to this comic, as I am not such a big fan of mythology (don’t come at me). The author uses colour schemes smartly and the way a character looked, revealed on some level its personality. It might be seen as something quite simple but very complex at the same time.

As you already know, it is a modern retelling of a Greek myth. I never found good retellings, and they always reminded me of those tacky fan-fictions from Wattpad, but Lore Olympus is something different. It wasn’t too cheesy or too serious. It was just perfect. Some chapters even had music that you can listen to while reading, but be aware of that. I didn’t know about it, and when I was reading (3 AM) my phone started singing. I thought some ghosts came to visit me! I peed my pants a bit.

Last but not least, the message and the style of writing. It is mostly a sweet and soft romance, but at the same time, it deals with complicated subjects, such as sexual assault, etc. It keeps you at the edge of your seat, but at the same time, you giggle while reading because it is such a great book. The next season starts in August, and I simply can’t wait for it.

Overall, as you have a heart, this book is for you. You don’t have to like greek mythology to enjoy it, and it is a great read for a rainy Sunday afternoon.

Hi! I usually write book-related content, such as TBR, reviews, book tours and book tags, but recently I dove deeper into politics, religion, sex and even history. I write posts where I educate people about important subjects, and I hope to see you on my blog soon!
