As I have finished my exams I can now get back into my passion for reading books. A full disclaimer: I am terrible at keeping up with series so I will do my best to catch up on some during the summer holiday. Even though I chose only a few books to put on my TBR, I am hoping to read more than that, including some arcs I am not going to include in this post. I am quite picky with the books I finish and I mostly read acording to my mood so I like leaving a little room to add books at the last moment. But let’s get started with the three books I’m sure I will read during this summer:
Lover Eternal by J. R. Ward
This is the second book in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. I read the first book, Dark Lover last spring and I really enjoyed it. For me, it was a great start to a series, to the more complex stories that are about to come. I look forward to read Rhage’s love story and what lays behind his motivation of joining the Black Dagger Brotherhood and how he became cursed to turn into a feared beast when he is angry. Am I the only one imagining a new, fresh retelling of Beauty and the Beast? I might be totaly wrong but I do love that movie and I am anticipating I will love this book too! I can’t wait to see which is the perfect match for such an impulsive cursed vampire. I found the first book to be the perfect combination of adventure, love and paranormal and I expect nothing less from this sequel.
Bad Saint by Monica James
I personally love a good mafia, forbbiden romance and this seems to be just that. This is the first book in a series I am really interested in. Even though I know close to nothing about this story, nothing but the synopsis I think this book had great potential. I usually like mafia stories whether they are in movies or books, but I seem to be analysing books more. I can’t wait to give this book a try!
The quote in the Goodreads description that caught my eye is:
” Ironic, isn’t it? He bears a name that denotes nothing but holiness yet delivers nothing but hell. However, if this is hell on earth…God, save my soul. “
Have you read this book? What are your thoughts on it?
Bad Influence by Charleigh Rose
The 3rd and final book in the Bad Love series and I and so sad to finish it. So far I absolutly adored this series, being one of my all time favorites and I must admit I am excited for it, but also not looking it forward to finishing these books. The book follows the story of Jess and Allie and how they fall for one another. As this is a full novel, I hope the story won’t feel rushed as it did in the novella (I also enjoyed that one, but it’s not one of my favorites). I am looking forward to dive into this book and enjoy the story and make an opinion for myself. It will be difficult to be better than the other books I read by her, but it’s always a possibility with Charleigh Rose.
If anyone has any recommendations for more diverse books I would be highly interested in that, so please don’t be shy and send your suggestion here, on my email, on Goodreads or Twitter. Thank you so much!
